BrainFest with Allen Institute

Join us for the second annual BrainFest, a day of brainy fun for all ages at Pacific Science Center. Explore hands-on activities, meet Allen Institute scientists and collaborators, learn about cutting-edge neuroscience research, and even touch a real brain!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Featured activities include:

  • Look at real mouse and human brain samples under a microscope
  • Listen in on the electricity in your own nervous system
  • Play games to explore how the brain develops across childhood
  • Investigate the shapes of real brain cells and make your own pipe cleaner model to take home
  • Compare different animal brains – including a T. Rex brain cast!
  • Learn about Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions with real human brains from the UW Biorepository
  • Meet neuroscientists from the Allen Institute and other local institutions
