Red Ochre Art Studio in Magnuson Park is a light filled space for creative workshops in visual art. Artist and Educator Sandy Bricel Miller launched Red Ochre Art Studio in 2013 to provide fun, in-depth art experiences for youth and adults. Sandy has served as an art specialist for children in grades K - 8 for 35 years in local public and private schools.

Summer Art Camp provides children with the opportunity to explore visual art in a professional art studio located in beautiful Magnuson Park. Through step-by-step demonstrations, viewing art from master artists, and exploring new techniques, students will have fun and develop confidence in their artistic skills. Kids will work on art projects inside the studio and venture outdoors for nature walks, sketching and group games in the park.

Session 2, July 15 - 19, Painting, Collage and Mosaic

Learn about abstract art, color and design through exploration of different art media and inspiration from famous artists Georgia O’Keeffe and Henri Matisse.

Session 3, July 22 - 26, Drawing, Painting and 3-D Birdhouses

Create drawings and paintings inspired by animals and their habitats, both real and imaginary. Practice outdoor sketching, learn about the natural world and view art from the masters. Explore color through painting on canvas and designing a modern art birdhouse.
